Thought Spot App

CAMH Centre for Addiction and Mental Health is Canada's largest mental health teaching hospital and one of the world's leading research centres.

According to a 2016 report, 44% of Ontario university students experienced symptoms of depression so severe that it was difficult for them to function. Recognizing the need to address this crisis, CAMH wanted to make it easier for students in the Greater Toronto Area to find mental health and wellness resources.

They came to Iversoft with an idea for an app that would help students discover nearby services. But they didn't know what technology they needed or how to build it.

We developed Thought Spot, a native iOS and Android app that helps students find mental health and wellness resources across the Greater Toronto Area. Students can search for services by location, service type, or keyword.

To make the app easy to navigate, we integrated location services so students can quickly find resources near them. We also built a custom CMS that allows CAMH staff to easily manage service listings without technical knowledge.

The app's design prioritizes simplicity and accessibility. We used calming colours and clear typography to create a welcoming experience for students who may be experiencing stress or anxiety.

Thought Spot successfully launched and has helped countless students discover mental health resources in their area. The app reduces barriers to accessing care.

CAMH staff can now manage service listings independently through the custom CMS, ensuring the app stays current.

The project demonstrates how thoughtful technology can support mental health initiatives and make critical resources more accessible.
